Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 — Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited (KMPL) has appointed Sandeep Rath as Head of Human Resources, where he will lead the organization’s people strategy, leadership development, and workforce capability initiatives. In this role, he will oversee HR strategy across the NBFC, with a strong focus on strengthening talent pipelines, enhancing employee engagement, and driving organizational effectiveness as Kotak Mahindra Prime continues to scale its operations within India’s financial services sector.
In his current role at Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited, Sandeep Rath is responsible for shaping the overall HR agenda for the organization, aligning people practices with business priorities, and supporting growth across its nationwide operations. His mandate includes leadership development, capability building, and strengthening HR systems to support a rapidly evolving business environment.
Prior to this, Sandeep spent close to six years with Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he held progressive leadership roles including HR Lead, Vice President, and Senior Vice President. During this phase, he worked closely with senior business leaders on organization design, talent planning, performance management, digitization of HR systems, and employee engagement initiatives across critical banking functions.
Before rejoining the Kotak Mahindra Group, he served as Zonal Head HR at L&T Financial Services, where he was responsible for manpower planning, hiring, and enabling business strategy through employee engagement initiatives across the zone. His work focused on aligning HR delivery with business growth requirements in a large, distributed financial services environment.
Earlier in his career, Sandeep Rath held multiple HR leadership roles at ICICI Bank, spanning employee relations, sourcing and recruitment, and regional HR responsibilities. He began his professional journey with exposure to large, multi-business environments through roles at the Aditya Birla Group, gaining early experience in compensation benchmarking, HR analytics, and policy evaluation.
Sandeep Rath is an alumnus of Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurugram, where he completed his MBA / PGDHRM, building a strong foundation in human resource management and organizational development.
