Hyderabad, Telangana, India, December 2025 — Suman Chattopadhyay has joined Assystem as Director of Projects. In this role, he will lead complex, large-scale engineering and infrastructure programs, strengthening project delivery, technical governance, and execution excellence as Assystem accelerates the global energy transition.
Immediately prior to joining Assystem, Suman Chattopadhyay spent over eight years with Jacobs, where he held multiple senior leadership roles based in Hyderabad. Most recently, he served as Technical Director and Manager of Projects, following a five-year tenure as Sector Head – Bridges. Earlier at Jacobs, he was India Sector Head – Bridges, Geotech and Rail, leading multidisciplinary teams, complex transportation portfolios, and large client engagements across India.
Before Jacobs, he built a strong foundation in bridge engineering and transportation infrastructure during a decade-long tenure as Sector Head – Bridges at Halcrow. In this role, he led major bridge projects, business development initiatives, and technical teams across the region.
Earlier in his career, Suman Chattopadhyay held the role of Technical Manager at Dantata & Sawoe Construction Company in Nigeria, contributing to complex infrastructure execution in challenging environments. He also worked as Senior Engineer at Consulting Engineering Services (India) Pvt. Ltd., and began his professional journey as Project Engineer at Geo Miller (a Simplex Group company), following an early assignment as Graduate Engineering Trainee at Acco Engineers.
Across more than three decades, he has built deep expertise in transportation engineering, bridge design and delivery, project management, operations leadership, and strategic execution, consistently delivering high-impact infrastructure programs across geographies.
