Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2026 — Pushp Kumar Nayar has been elevated to Director (HR) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) following the recommendation of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on February 24, 2026. He emerged as the top candidate among 12 senior public sector leaders, including executives from Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), GAIL (India) Limited, and NTPC Limited, after a rigorous competitive selection process.
In this upcoming board-level role, Mr. Nayar will succeed Raj Kumar Dubey, who is set to retire on March 31, 2026. As Director (HR), he will be responsible for shaping the human capital strategy, strengthening industrial relations, and driving workforce transformation for the Maharatna energy major during a critical phase of digital expansion and its journey toward becoming a Net Zero Energy Company by 2040.
Mr. Nayar currently serves as Executive Director (HRD) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, where he has been instrumental in steering people development initiatives, leadership programs, and organizational capability building. Over his 33-year career with BPCL, he has led diverse business functions including Retail (South), Supply Chain Management, and MAK Lubricants, demonstrating remarkable cross-functional expertise across marketing, operations, and business strategy.
Prior to his current HR leadership role, he held senior assignments such as Head – Retail (South), Head of Supply Chain Management, Marketing Manager (Lubricants), and State Head (Retail) for Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh. Earlier in his career, he also served at Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) as HOD PNG Marketing, contributing to business planning and execution in the natural gas sector.
With deep institutional knowledge, strong operational grounding, and a proven leadership track record across both commercial and human resource domains, Pushp Kumar Nayar is uniquely positioned to lead BPCL’s people mandate at the board level during a transformative phase for the organization.
