London, United Kingdom, March 2026 — Barclays has appointed Shilpa Shah as Managing Director, Talent Acquisition & Skills, as the British universal bank continues to strengthen its leadership in global resourcing and capability-building. Based in the London area, Shah will lead the bank’s talent acquisition and skills agenda, supporting workforce priorities across a diverse global organization.
In her new role, Shah is expected to shape enterprise-wide hiring and skills strategies, aligning talent acquisition with long-term workforce planning and capability needs. Her appointment brings to Barclays a proven track record in global resourcing, talent deployment, employer branding, executive staffing, and skills-focused workforce transformation.
Prior to joining Barclays, Shah served at Standard Chartered Bank as Managing Director, Global Resourcing & Talent Deployment, where she led global resourcing and talent deployment for more than three years. Her work spanned workforce planning, employer branding, executive staffing, and skills deployment, including the application of emerging technologies to strengthen talent decisions.
Earlier in her career, Shah held senior talent acquisition and talent leadership roles across global organizations. At GE HealthCare, she was Director, Global Talent Acquisition & Candidate Experience, leading global hiring and experience initiatives. Before that, she served at Rolls-Royce as HR Director, Talent Management & Acquisition, and also as Global Head of Talent Acquisition, leading talent strategies supporting large-scale, complex workforce needs.
Shah also held leadership roles at Aviva as Global Talent Acquisition Director, and earlier built deep experience across GE and GE Capital, where she led regional and global resourcing programs across Europe and global banking, covering multi-country staffing strategies and senior leadership hiring.
