Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2026 — Anand Nandagopal has started his new position as Executive Vice President & Head – Business Development & Strategic Alliances at Niva Bupa Health Insurance. In this expanded leadership role, he will lead business development, strategic alliances, partnership growth, and distribution expansion initiatives as the company continues strengthening its presence in India’s health insurance sector.
Anand has been associated with Niva Bupa Health Insurance for more than four years. Prior to this role, he served as Senior Vice President & Head – Business Development and earlier as Vice President & Head – Business Development, Strategic Alliances, Digital, Rural & Combi Business, where he contributed to partnership-led growth, digital business expansion, rural distribution, and strategic alliance development.
Before joining Niva Bupa, Anand held senior leadership roles with Max Life Insurance Company Limited, Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd., Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, Shriram Life Insurance, Aviva India, and Tata AIA Life Insurance, building deep expertise across bancassurance, alternate channels, group business, strategic alliances, rural partnerships, corporate agency, and business development. Earlier in his career, he also worked with ING Vysya Life Insurance, HSBC India, BankMuscat, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ANZ, gaining strong experience across retail assets, channel partnerships, sales, and financial services distribution.
With nearly three decades of experience across insurance, banking, strategic alliances, alternate distribution, retail assets, business development, and partnership-led growth, Anand is well-positioned to support Niva Bupa’s mission of giving every Indian the confidence to access the best healthcare through strong partner networks, innovative distribution models, and customer-focused health insurance solutions.
