In his new position, Adam Smith will oversee financial strategy, planning, and operational performance, supporting Mayo Clinic Health System’s mission to provide integrated, patient-centered care close to home. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic Health System, Smith spent several years at Froedtert Health, where he most recently served as Vice President, Finance, leading enterprise finance initiatives and performance management. Earlier, he held senior financial planning and strategic operations roles at the Medical College of Wisconsin, contributing to financial planning, decision support, and operational strategy across clinical departments. His career foundation was built through progressive finance leadership roles focused on healthcare financial analytics and strategic planning.
Smith holds a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of St. Francis, equipping him with strong expertise at the intersection of healthcare delivery and financial management.
His appointment strengthens Mayo Clinic Health System’s financial leadership as the organization continues to enhance access to high-quality care across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
