Chennai, October 8, 2024 – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asia Human Resource Development (ASIAHRD) Academy in recognition of his exceptional contributions to human resource management.
The award was presented by Fahmi Jowder, former Minister of Bahrain and Chairman of the ASIAHRD Award Committee, and Mohamed Waheed, former President of the Maldives and Vice-Chairman of the ASIAHRD Award Committee.
Notably, the award ceremony took place at the Chief Secretariat in Chennai.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was confend strengthening the environment for fostering creativity, innovation, and skill development.
Among those present at the event were Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Palan, founder of the ASIAHRD Awards and Pro-Chancellor of Cyberjaya University, K.A. Mathew I.A.S. (Retd) Chairman of MSSW, David Whitford, Vice-Chancellor, Maha Ramanathan, Managing Director of SMRT Holdings Malaysia, Dato CM Vignaesvaran, former Chief Operating Officer of the Human Resource Development Board, Prof Subramanian Amamalay Director of the ASIAHRD Awards, and several other dignitaries.
Following the event, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Palan spoke to reporters, mentioning that this ceremony is being held in India after 12 years. He noted that previous recipients of the award include Philippines President Fidel V. Ramos, Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic, and Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud of Malaysia.
Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Palan proudly stated, “We have carefully reviewed Chief Minister Stalin’s contributions to human resource development in Tamil Nadu before presenting this award.”
He highlighted several key achievements:
• The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has provided skill training to millions of individuals.
• Employment opportunities have increased, and the quality of life for the youth has improved significantly.
• The award committee firmly believes that education and human resource development are essential to eradicating poverty.
He concluded by emphasizing that these accomplishments were the reasons behind honoring Chief Minister Stalin with this prestigious award.
