Los Angeles, California, United States, July 2026 — Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, has appointed AJ Abedin as Board Director and Senior Strategic Advisor, strengthening its leadership team as the company continues to expand its global aviation platform and deepen its engagement with international capital markets.
The appointment was announced by Zilvinas Lapinskas, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board at Avia Solutions Group, who welcomed Abedin to the organization. Based in the United States, Abedin will help strengthen the group’s relationships with U.S. capital markets while advising the leadership of WOLF Holding, the company’s asset management platform. He will work closely with Chairman Gediminas Ziemelis, the Group leadership team, and subsidiaries to support commercial growth, strategic investments, and broader value-creation initiatives.
Abedin joins Avia Solutions Group following a distinguished 13-year career at Air Lease Corporation, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President. During his tenure, he progressed through several key leadership positions including Vice President – Marketing & Commercial Affairs, Assistant Vice President – Aircraft Marketing & Commercial Affairs, Treasurer, and Director of Treasury Operations. Across these roles, he led strategic initiatives spanning aircraft leasing, aviation finance, treasury operations, commercial affairs, capital markets, and airline partnerships, contributing significantly to the company’s global growth.
Prior to Air Lease Corporation, Abedin worked as an Investment Banking Associate at J.P. Morgan, where he advised clients on strategic financial transactions after completing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. Earlier in his career, he served as an Electrical (Hardware) Engineer at Curtiss-Wright and completed a research fellowship at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory / CSUN Material Science Laboratory, giving him a unique combination of engineering, finance, and aviation industry expertise.
In his new role, Abedin will help shape Avia Solutions Group’s regional procurement of capital, strengthen relationships with institutional investors, support the leadership of WOLF Holding, and contribute to the company’s continued expansion across aircraft leasing, aviation services, and global ACMI operations. His deep expertise in aerospace finance, commercial aviation, investment banking, and strategic business development will support Avia Solutions Group’s long-term growth ambitions and reinforce its position as a global aviation leader.
AJ Abedin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management.
