New York, United States, April 2025 – Akhil Parekh has taken on the role of Global Chief Product Officer at Nielsen, marking a new chapter in his distinguished product leadership journey. In this role, Akhil will lead the company’s global product strategy and innovation across audience insights, data, and analytics platforms, reinforcing Nielsen’s position at the forefront of media measurement and engagement solutions.
Before assuming his new role, Akhil Parekh served as Chief Solutions Officer, Digital at Nielsen, where he was instrumental in advancing digital capabilities and aligning product innovation with evolving client needs. His leadership strengthened Nielsen’s digital transformation and expanded its reach across modern content ecosystems.
Prior to Nielsen, Akhil was Executive Vice President and Managing Director at Publicis Groupe, where he was the single-threaded global leader for building the Groupe’s media platform. He drove end-to-end execution across product management, engineering, AI, data science, and client success, delivering transformative outcomes in global media innovation.
Akhil also held the role of SVP of Product Management, Converged TV at Mediaocean, where he led initiatives that bridged traditional and digital media platforms. Earlier, at 4C Insights (which later became part of Mediaocean), he served as SVP Product and GM, Advanced TV, overseeing product strategy and market leadership in connected TV solutions.
He spent over nine years at Rovi, progressing through leadership roles such as Director of Product Management, Director of Business Development, and Senior Product Manager. His work at Rovi focused on advanced advertising and analytics solutions for Smart TVs and second-by-second set-top data platforms.
Akhil’s earlier career includes impactful roles at Amp’d Mobile, Excelacom, SPG Direct, and Associated Film Industries, where he developed a solid foundation in wireless operations, QA, business analysis, and systems design—experience that would go on to fuel his success in product leadership.
