Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2026 – Nokia has elevated Akshat Shahi to the role of Director of Internal Audit, marking a significant milestone in his long-standing journey with the organization.
In his new role, Akshat Shahi will lead the strategic direction, governance, and execution of internal audit initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, risk management frameworks, and global operational standards. His elevation reflects Nokia’s continued focus on strengthening audit leadership and driving robust internal controls in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Akshat Shahi has been associated with Nokia for over a decade, steadily progressing through multiple leadership roles within the internal audit function. Most recently, as Senior Manager Internal Audit, he led strategic audit planning and execution across India and global business units, collaborating closely with senior leadership to align audit priorities with organizational goals.
Prior to this, he served as Internal Audit Manager, where he managed audit projects across regions including the Middle East and Africa, contributing to governance, risk management, and operational improvements. His role involved close engagement with business leaders and participation in audit leadership decision-making processes.
Earlier in his tenure, he held positions including Senior Lead Auditor, Lead Internal Auditor, and Senior Internal Auditor, where he played a key role in audit execution, team leadership, and automation initiatives, consistently delivering high-quality audit outcomes across global operations.
Before joining Nokia, he gained experience in audit and consulting roles at Samsung Electronics, PwC, and Protiviti, building a strong foundation in forensic audits, risk advisory, and internal controls.
