Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India, December 2025 – Akshay Jindal has been promoted to Director – HR at Razorpay, where he serves as HRBP Leader for the Tech, Product and 0 to 1 Sales teams, while also leading the Centre of Excellence for Global Expansion, Employee Experience and M&A Charter for the Razorpay Group. In this expanded role, he is responsible for shaping people strategy for high-growth, innovation-centric teams, and strengthening the organisation’s talent and culture backbone as Razorpay continues to power India’s digital financial ecosystem.
Over nearly four years at Razorpay, Akshay Jindal has progressively taken on larger mandates, beginning as HR Business Partner, then Senior Manager – HR Business Partner, HRBP Lead – POS Payments Engineering & DevOps, and Associate Director – HR. Across these roles, he has partnered closely with multiple Tech and Product organisations, leading end-to-end HR business partnering and helping build scalable people practices for engineering, product and emerging business teams in Bengaluru and beyond.
Before joining Razorpay, Akshay spent close to two years at Flipkart as Senior HR Business Partner, driving end-to-end HR partnering for corporate functions including the CEO’s Office, Group Commercial, Finance (M&A, FK Ventures, Group FP&A & IR) and CREFS. He was also part of the central taskforce leading employee engagement, talent branding and key transformation programmes, including the Walmart India – Flipkart Wholesale integration, giving him rich experience at the intersection of HR, business strategy and large-scale change.
Earlier, Akshay Jindal worked with the Vedanta Group (including Vedanta Resources Limited and Cairn Oil and Gas) for over three years, across roles such as Group HR Lead – Engagement & Awards and Employer Branding, Vertical Head – Awards & Communication, HRBP – Technical Functions, Lead – Learning and Organisation Development, and Business Analyst – CHRO’s Office. In these roles, he led external HR excellence awards, employee experience, chairman’s awards, leadership development, flagship graduate engineering trainee programmes and manpower planning, while partnering closely with the CHRO and ExCo on people, talent and leadership initiatives across multiple entities.
At the start of his career, Akshay built a strong foundation through early project and corporate HR internships with organisations such as Publicis Sapient, Bisleri International, DTDC Express, Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. (The Times of India) and Landmark Group, along with his entrepreneurial stint in the modular kitchen space with NJCH in Chandigarh. These experiences across sales capability building, HR compliance audits, succession planning, performance systems design and talent engagement helped shape his holistic, business-oriented HR perspective that now informs his leadership at Razorpay.
