Gurugram, Haryana, India, March 2026 — Biswanath Ghosh has started a new position as Director – Technical Excellence & Growth at Cairn Oil and Gas, Vedanta Limited. In this role, he will lead the Center of Excellence and Innovation, with a focus on driving strategic initiatives for business development and growth through technical excellence and operational efficiency.
Biswanath Ghosh said, “In this role I will lead the Center of Excellence and Innovation at Cairn Oil and Gas – Vedanta Limited. This will be achieved through a commitment to technical excellence and operational efficiency, leveraging technology, digital innovations, robust governance, systematic benchmarking, and fostering collaborations and partnerships.”
In his career journey with Cairn Oil and Gas, Biswanath Ghosh has held leadership responsibilities across the exploration and growth portfolio. Immediately prior to this appointment, he served as Director – Exploration, leading exploration portfolio and programs across multiple basins to support resources and reserves growth goals for the organization.
Earlier, he was associated with Cairn Oil and Gas as Head Technical (Growth) & Exploration, where he led the growth vertical across exploration, appraisal, and field development for greenfield projects.
Before this phase, Biswanath Ghosh built his technical foundation at Cairn Energy India Pty Limited, serving as Principal Geophysicist, and earlier as Lead Geophysicist and Geophysicist. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, where he studied Applied Geophysics.
