Perth, Western Australia, Australia, May 2025 – Alex Drago has been appointed as Head of People Operations at KPMG Australia, taking the lead on transforming shared services and HR operations for one of the country’s largest professional services firms. In this role, Alex is responsible for delivering scalable, people-centric solutions to support approximately 10,000 employees across the firm.
Alex’s appointment marks the latest milestone in his progressive journey at KPMG Australia, where he has served in several strategic roles since 2021. Most recently, he led as Head of Learning Technology & Learning Operations, overseeing systems like SuccessFactors and Degreed, streamlining learning delivery, and embedding automation capabilities through Microsoft Power Platform to elevate service efficiency and employee experience.
Earlier, Alex served as People & Inclusion Business Lead, where he worked directly with the National Managing Partner to drive strategic HR initiatives, establish functional budgets, and steer high-impact transformation programs. He played a central role in operational planning and executive-level reporting across people functions.
Prior to joining KPMG, Alex spent over four years with PwC, leading strategic people projects and managing transformation initiatives aligned with firm-wide goals. His earlier experience also includes senior HR and learning roles at Fortescue Metals Group, Bankwest, ABN Group, and Ford Motor Company, where he honed his expertise in leadership development, organisational transformation, and operational excellence.
Across his 20+ year career, Alex has demonstrated a strong passion for using automation, continuous improvement, and human-centred design to reimagine HR shared services. His leadership style is rooted in empowerment, data-informed decision-making, and innovation at scale.
