Bogotá, Capital District, Colombia, May 2025 – Andrea Perez has been appointed as Head of People and Organization at Cencosud Colombia, one of Latin America’s largest and most prestigious multi-format retailers. In her new role, Andrea will lead people strategy and organizational development across the company’s operations in Colombia, playing a pivotal role in driving talent, culture, and transformation initiatives to support business growth and customer-centric innovation.

Andrea brings more than two decades of experience in human resources and organizational development, with a significant part of her career spent at Mars, where she held several senior roles over 15 years. Most recently, she served as Latam Talent & Culture Lead, leading strategic initiatives across Latin America focused on talent management, culture building, and leadership development.

Prior to that, Andrea was Latam People & Organization Business Partner for Supply and R&D, where she supported regional transformation programs and drove strategic workforce planning, succession, and change leadership across supply chain and innovation units. She also served as People and Organization Head for the Andean Region and previously as Talent Manager, shaping associate attraction, retention, and performance strategies for the business.

Andrea began her career at PwC, where she spent eight years as Leader Consultant specializing in HR consulting and advisory services, including executive search, organizational change, and culture diagnostics for diverse clients in Latin America.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
