Norristown, Pennsylvania, United States, July 2025 – Alicia Smith has been appointed as Vice President of Human Resources at Gaudenzia, Inc., one of the largest nonprofit substance use and co-occurring disorders treatment organizations in the United States. In her new role, Alicia will lead the human capital strategy, organizational development, and employee experience initiatives across the organization’s network of over 100 programs and 51 facilities.
Prior to joining Gaudenzia, Alicia served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey, where she was part of the Executive Leadership Team. During her tenure of nearly a year, she led human capital strategy for approximately 200 employees and played a key role in national accreditation processes, vendor negotiations, and an organizational restructure to align with fiscal goals.
Before that, Alicia held dual roles at Resources for Human Development, first as Chief Human Resources Officer for eight years and later in a part-time capacity. Across her 15-year association with RHD, she led HR strategy for over 5,500 employees across 16 states, implemented new HRIS systems, and championed major transformations in talent acquisition, compliance, and organizational design.
In addition to her corporate roles, Alicia has been the Founder and Principal of ASmith Enterprises, LLC for more than 24 years. Through her consultancy, she has independently supported numerous organizations in HR policy, KPI development, strategic planning, leadership retreats, change management, and conflict resolution, among other areas.
Earlier in her career, Alicia held several strategic leadership positions including Organizational Development Leader – National at Resources for Human Development, Clinical Organizational Consultant, and Program Director at Physicians for Social Responsibility. She also held management roles at The Brown Schools’ Center for Girls, Big Sisters of Philadelphia, and Bucks County Opportunity Council, building a strong foundation in program development, clinical services, government relations, and workforce planning.
