Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – October 2024 – Amit Sharma has joined Gokaldas Exports Limited as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), becoming a key member of the Group Leadership Team. In this role, he is responsible for aligning HR functions with the company’s strategic objectives and driving global business growth.
Before joining Gokaldas Exports, Amit Sharma served as Vice President, Head – HR, India at the Volvo Group for over four years. In this position, he provided strategic HR leadership across multiple entities, including manufacturing operations and global competency centers in India. His key achievements included driving cultural rejuvenation, improving talent mobility, and enhancing diversity and inclusion initiatives, leading Volvo Group India to receive several workplace accolades.
Prior to Volvo, Amit was the Director of Human Resources and India HR Head at TE Connectivity for nearly three years, where he managed HR across five business units and global engineering centers. He focused on talent development, employee engagement, and diversity, achieving significant growth in employee satisfaction and capability-building.
At Philips, where he spent over five years, Amit held multiple roles, including Director & HR Head – Global MoS Business, Healthcare Innovation Center & India Industrial Operations. He was instrumental in strategic workforce planning, employer branding, post-merger integrations, and the establishment of new R&D and manufacturing facilities.
Earlier in his career, Amit worked at Johnson & Johnson, where he served as Sr. Human Resources Business Partner and Plant HR Manager, focusing on talent acquisition, performance management, and greenfield plant setups. His career began at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, where he gained experience in employee engagement, statutory compliance, and change management over seven years.
