Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2025 — Anand Ramanathan has been appointed as the Retail & Consumer Products Sector Leader, Asia Pacific at Deloitte. In this newly expanded role, he will drive growth across agribusiness, food & beverages, apparel & footwear, personal & household goods, and the retail, warehousing & distribution (RWD) sectors across Deloitte’s operations in Asia Pacific—including China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, and South Asia.
Anand brings deep expertise to this role, having served in multiple leadership positions at Deloitte over the past eight years. He currently also leads as Partner & Consumer Industry Leader – South Asia, overseeing sectoral expansion across Consumer Products, Retail, Transportation, Hospitality & Services, and Automotive industries, supporting end-to-end business functions including Transformation & Technology, Strategy, Audit, Risk, and Tax.
Before joining Deloitte, Anand was a Partner – Strategy & Operations at KPMG, where he led over 90 consulting engagements across FMCG, retail, logistics, agribusiness, e-commerce, healthcare, and education. He was instrumental in launching KPMG’s Centres of Excellence for Food, Agribusiness & Retail (FAR) and Channel & Salesforce Effectiveness (ChaSE), establishing his reputation as a transformation specialist in the consumer domain.
Anand began his career in brand and sales management roles at GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and Novartis, and later pursued a PhD at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, with teaching and research engagements at leading business schools across Europe and Asia. He is also an alumnus of IIM Indore, BITS Pilani, and Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bangalore.
