Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2026 — Anant Khandelwal has started a new role as Vice President, Loan Capital Markets (Asia Pacific) at SMBC Group, where he will focus on structuring and executing complex debt and loan capital market transactions across the Asia Pacific region.
Anant Khandelwal joins SMBC Group after nearly a decade with IndusInd Bank, where he most recently served as Vice President – Structured Finance. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in structuring and executing large-ticket project finance, infrastructure and corporate lending transactions, building deep expertise across structured finance, debt syndication and advisory.
Prior to IndusInd Bank, he spent over five years at SBI Capital Markets, progressing through roles including Manager – Project Advisory and Structured Finance and Deputy Manager – Project Advisory & Structured Finance. In these positions, he worked extensively on project finance, debt structuring and advisory assignments across multiple infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Earlier in his career, Anant began his professional journey with Ernst & Young (EY) as an Intern, where he gained foundational exposure to statutory and tax audits, forensic and fraud investigation assignments, and financial controls assessment.
