Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has announced the appointment of Aasif Malbari as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, elevating a senior member of the company’s global leadership team to lead its next phase of growth.
Malbari brings nearly three decades of experience across FMCG and automotive industries, spanning finance, strategy, business transformation, operations and leadership. At GCPL, he has most recently served as Global Chief Financial Officer and President – Godrej Africa, Middle East and GCPL International, working across geographies on strategy, growth and business performance. He initially joined GCPL as Chief Financial Officer in August 2023.
Alongside his global finance responsibilities, Malbari led the transformation of GCPL’s Africa business, with a focus on strengthening its core Hair Fashion portfolio and expanding its margin-accretive FMCG portfolio, including the launch of air care. According to the company, EBITDA margins in the Africa business increased from approximately 9% in FY24 to 15% in FY26 during this period.
Before joining GCPL, Malbari served as Chief Financial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Director at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles. He was closely involved in the growth and restructuring of Tata Motors’ passenger and electric vehicle businesses, including a USD 1 billion fundraise for the EV business. His earlier Tata Motors assignments included Vice President Finance for the India passenger vehicle business and VP Finance & Group Controller for the Tata Motors–Jaguar Land Rover Group, where his responsibilities covered reporting, controls, taxation and group performance management.
Earlier in his career, Malbari spent more than 17 years with Unilever, holding a succession of senior finance and commercial positions. These included Group Finance Controller & Head of Investor Relations, Finance Director – Global Dressings Business, Head Finance – Foods Business for multiple international markets, Head of Supply Chain Finance for South Asia, and Head of the Global Treasury Centre for Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He began his professional journey as a trainee with PricewaterhouseCoopers. A Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, Malbari secured All India First Rank in both the CA Intermediate and Final examinations.
