New Delhi, Delhi, India, December 2025 — Anil Kakkar has taken on a new role as Enterprise Chief Information Officer (CIO) at GMR Group, where he will lead the Group’s enterprise-wide digital, technology, and IT transformation agenda. In this role, he will be responsible for strengthening digital capabilities, driving innovation across businesses, and aligning technology strategy with GMR Group’s long-term growth ambitions across infrastructure, airports, energy, and sports.
Prior to joining GMR Group, Anil Kakkar spent over a decade with Escorts Kubota Limited, where he served in senior technology leadership roles, most recently as Chief Information Officer. During this period, he played a pivotal role in enterprise-wide IT transformation initiatives, including ERP modernization, application rationalization, data and analytics enablement, and digital roadmap execution across multiple business units.
Earlier in his career, he held technology and project leadership roles at Agilent Technologies and Indus Towers Limited, where he led large-scale data warehouse, business intelligence, ERP, and process transformation programs. These roles helped him build deep expertise in digital platforms, predictive analytics, mobility solutions, and large, multi-vendor technology ecosystems.
Anil began his professional journey in techno-functional and consulting roles with organizations including GE Capital International Services and Motherson Technology Services, developing strong foundations in enterprise applications, databases, and global IT delivery models.
