Anil Khatri Takes Joins Deepak Group Co. as Business Head of Specialities

Deepak Group Co. has appointed Anil Khatri as the new Business Head of Specialities (Effective Chemicals). With a robust background in chemical manufacturing and strategic business development, Anil brings over two decades of industry expertise to his new role at the Vadodara-based company.

Prior to his current position, Anil served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Epsilon Carbon Pvt Ltd, where from September 2022 to April 2024, he spearheaded initiatives in specialty chemicals, focusing on sustainable practices and strategic growth through joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. His tenure at Epsilon was marked by significant advancements in coke oven byproduct upgrading and the implementation of comprehensive market research and analysis frameworks.

Anil has had a long-standing relationship with Deepak Group Co, having previously held several strategic roles within the company. From April 2022 to September 2022, he was the Associate Vice President of Business Development, focusing on the Phenol/Acetone value chain and R&D product development. His earlier positions in the company include General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Corporate Strategic Planning, where he was instrumental in developing corporate strategies and feasibility studies from 2015 to 2022.

His earlier career also includes significant roles at Sulzer GTC Technology and Baker Hughes, where he was involved in key account management and technical service engineering, respectively. Anil’s comprehensive career demonstrates a strong prowess in strategic planning, business development, and corporate strategy, making him a valuable leader for Deepak Group Co’s Specialities division.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
