Hyderabad, Telangana, India, October 2025 – Automotive Manufacturers Private Limited (AMPL) has announced the appointment of Aniruddha Mahajan as its new Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With over two decades of HR leadership experience spanning retail, logistics, manufacturing, and automotive sectors, Aniruddha will spearhead the company’s people strategy, talent transformation, and leadership development agenda as AMPL continues its nationwide expansion across India’s automotive ecosystem.
Aniruddha Mahajan brings extensive experience in driving organizational culture, workforce transformation, and operational excellence across some of India’s most respected companies.
Prior to joining AMPL, Aniruddha served as Head of HR – Retail at Shoppers Stop Ltd., where he led HR operations and talent initiatives for over eight years. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping people practices that helped Shoppers Stop emerge among the Top 10 Best Workplaces in Retail and the Top 100 Workplaces in India. His strategic leadership spanned HR operations, talent management, and employee engagement across the company’s multiple retail formats including Shoppers Stop, Home Stop, and Beauty divisions.
Before his retail sector success, he was the Head of Human Resources at GoJavas, a leading e-commerce logistics start-up. There, he built and managed HR frameworks supporting over 12,000 employees across 290 cities, driving large-scale people operations during a period of rapid business growth and diversification.
Aniruddha also held significant HR leadership roles at Walmart India, where he served as General Manager – Human Resources, overseeing HR operations for 220 stores across 11 states and five distribution centers. His work at Walmart was instrumental in implementing strategic HR initiatives and managing end-to-end employee lifecycle programs to strengthen organizational agility.
Earlier in his career, Aniruddha spent over five years at Metro Cash & Carry India, where he advanced through multiple leadership roles, including Senior Manager – Corporate HR. He contributed to national-level HR policy design, talent acquisition, and employee engagement initiatives that supported Metro’s expansion across major Indian cities. He began his professional journey with Thermax Limited, where he spent five years honing his foundational HR skills in manufacturing and industrial relations.
Aniruddha holds an MBA in Human Resources from Savitribai Phule Pune University and has completed an Executive Management Program in Human Resources from Cornell University’s ILR School, Ithaca.
