Her journey now continues at JASEM, where she will oversee operations including financial management, facilities, programming, and administrative functions. Martínez was chosen from a competitive pool of over 100 candidates, signaling her distinguished reputation and proven leadership abilities.
A Seamless Transition
The transition to Chief Operating Officer is set for later this summer, following the retirement of Cindy Bazner, who leaves behind a legacy of 47 years of dedicated service to JASEM. “Cindy Bazner’s incredible dedication and leadership have been pivotal to our success,” remarked Jason Lee, President & CEO of JASEM. “Anita Martínez is the ideal leader to build upon this legacy, bringing her passion and expertise to our mission.”

Her role at United Way for Southeastern Michigan as a director further showcases her commitment to financial stability and community impact, managing a significant fund that touched the lives of over 135,000 residents.
