Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2025 – Anjali Rao has been appointed as Executive Director, Human Resources – Lilly Bengaluru at Eli Lilly and Company. In her new role, she will spearhead HR strategy, talent transformation, and organizational effectiveness initiatives for Lilly’s operations in Bengaluru, contributing to the company’s mission of making life better through innovative medicines.
Anjali brings with her over two decades of human resources leadership across pharmaceutical and technology sectors. Prior to joining Eli Lilly, she was associated with Novartis for about 2 years, where she served as Country Head People & Organisation India, driving key people strategy for the organization from its Hyderabad base.
Before Novartis, she had an illustrious 18-year journey at Intel Corporation, where she held several senior roles including Senior Director HR – Networking and Edge Group, Head of HR for Intel India, and Director, Talent Acquisition for South Asia. Her work spanned global strategy, leadership development, site-level transformation, and workforce planning.
She began her HR journey with Azim Premji Foundation, followed by a staffing role at Intel, and has since held progressive leadership roles including HR Business Partner, Director HR, and Sr. Director HR. Her experience reflects deep HR domain expertise, especially in organization design, leadership transitions, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and change management.
Anjali holds a Master’s degree from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, one of India’s premier institutions for social sciences and human resources management.
