Hyderabad, Telangana, India, September 2025 – Anujeet Vishwanath Varadkar has taken over as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at IDFC FIRST Bharat Ltd. In this strategic leadership role, he will oversee the company’s expansion, innovation in microfinance, and its inclusive growth mission, as a key player within the IDFC FIRST Bank group.
Prior to this appointment, Anujeet Vishwanath Varadkar was associated with Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of IndusInd Bank, for over a year. During his tenure there, he held dual leadership roles—Joint Chief Operating Officer and Head – Strategic Transformation Initiatives, contributing to key operational and strategic transitions within the organization.
Previously, he spent over 11 years with Svatantra Microfin Pvt Ltd, where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, playing a significant role in driving the company’s presence in the microfinance space. His long-standing association with the firm was marked by organizational scaling and customer-centric financial solutions.
Before that, he worked with Mahindra & Mahindra, handling Retail and Channel Finance for the tractor division, and ICICI Bank, where he began his career in Agriculture Finance as an Assistant Manager. These early roles built a strong foundation for his understanding of rural and agri-based financial ecosystems.
Anujeet holds an MBA in Marketing from Sinhgad Institute of Management, Pune, equipping him with a robust academic grounding in strategic business leadership.
