Karachi, Pakistan, August 2025 – Aqil Karim has been appointed as Head of Human Resources – Pharmaceuticals Business at Lucky Core Industries. In this leadership role, he will oversee the complete people strategy for the company’s pharmaceuticals division, driving talent management, organizational development, and workforce engagement to support business growth and innovation.
Karim has been with Lucky Core Industries for over two years, most recently serving as Head of Human Resources for the group, where he provided strategic leadership across talent management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational capability building. His contributions have strengthened the company’s HR infrastructure and enhanced employee engagement across multiple business units.
Before joining Lucky Core Industries, Karim spent nearly a decade at ICI Pakistan Limited, where he advanced through multiple leadership positions. As Human Resources Manager, he led HR strategy, talent development, organizational design, and employee engagement initiatives across various business functions. Earlier, as Corporate Organisational Development Manager, he launched the award-winning ‘ASPIRE’ Career Development Programme, designed functional career roadmaps, implemented SAP SuccessFactors modules, and drove the company’s employee engagement agenda—contributing to ICI Pakistan’s win of the Gallup International Great Workplace Award in 2018.
Karim’s earlier experience includes serving as HR Business Partner and ESU Manager at British American Tobacco, where he worked on organizational development, change management, industrial relations, and payroll centralization projects. His career is marked by expertise in capability building, diversity and inclusion, digital HR transformation, and leadership development.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in HR and Finance from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
