Gurugram, Haryana, India, February 2025 – Ashutosh Varma has been promoted to Chief Business Officer (CBO) – India Business Unit (IBU) at Hero MotoCorp, effective May 1, 2025. This elevation recognizes his exceptional leadership, strategic foresight, and transformative contributions over his 15-year tenure with the company.
In his new role, Varma will lead the restructuring of IBU, focusing on accelerating growth, strengthening market leadership, and enhancing business agility in India’s dynamic two-wheeler market. His expertise in sales, marketing, and operations positions him well to drive Hero MotoCorp’s continued dominance in the Indian two-wheeler industry.

Ashutosh has been with Hero MotoCorp for over 15 years, most recently serving as National Sales Head – India Business Unit for the past four years. In this role, he successfully led nationwide sales operations, enhanced dealer networks, and drove significant market share growth. His ability to align business strategies with evolving customer preferences has been instrumental in maintaining Hero MotoCorp’s leadership in the two-wheeler segment.
Before this, he was Zonal Head – West at Hero MotoCorp for two years, overseeing business operations and sales strategy across Western India. His leadership helped expand distribution networks, improve service standards, and optimize sales processes in the region. Prior to that, he served as Zonal Head – East for nearly five years, where he was responsible for sales and marketing initiatives across Eastern India. His tenure saw significant improvements in market penetration and dealer engagement.
Earlier, Varma held key roles as Senior Area Manager – Delhi and Senior Area Manager – Bihar, where he was responsible for sales, service, and spare parts businesses in these regions. His leadership in Bihar helped boost Hero MotoCorp’s rural market share, while in Delhi, he consolidated the company’s leadership in a highly competitive urban market.
Before joining Hero MotoCorp, Varma spent six years at The Timken Company, where he held leadership roles as National Key Account Manager and Sales Engineer. In these roles, he managed strategic accounts, negotiated contracts, and drove business growth in the automotive and industrial segments.
