Brightwater, Tasman, New Zealand, August 2025 – Barry Davies has joined Brightwater Engineering as the new Chief Financial Officer, bringing with him over two decades of leadership in finance, commercial strategy, and business planning. In his new role, Barry will be responsible for shaping Brightwater’s financial strategy, enhancing operational efficiencies, and supporting the company’s continued growth across its industrial engineering services.
Before joining Brightwater Engineering, Barry Davies served as Commercial Business Partner at Nelmac for over a year, where he provided financial insights and strategic support to operational teams in delivering sustainable environmental solutions across New Zealand.
Previously, Barry had an extensive 17-year tenure at Goldpine, where he held the role of Finance & Commercial Manager. His leadership was instrumental in driving budgeting processes, financial reporting, ERP implementations, and strategic performance analysis. He played a central role in aligning finance operations with business goals in a complex manufacturing environment.
Earlier in his career, Barry served as Financial Controller at Home Direct Limited for three years, where he led financial operations and introduced performance dashboards and analytical models to improve financial decision-making.
He also held contract accountant positions at ING Barings and First National Bank in the United Kingdom, where he honed his skills in financial modelling, reporting, and systems development. Barry began his career at Bridgestone NZ Ltd as Management Accountant, gaining foundational experience in manufacturing accounting and cost control.
In addition to his corporate experience, Barry contributes to the community as a Board Member at Nelson Golf Club, a role he has held since December 2024.
