London, England, United Kingdom, October 2025 – Montcalm Collection, a group of independent luxury hotels across London, has appointed Basel Jabri as its new Head of People & Culture. In this pivotal role, Basel will spearhead the human capital strategy for the group, leading culture development, talent management, learning and engagement initiatives, and aligning people practices with Montcalm’s commitment to luxury, innovation, and well-being across its diverse portfolio of hotels.
Basel Jabri brings more than 20 years of rich experience in human resources and hospitality leadership across globally renowned hotel brands in the UK, Middle East, and Europe. His expertise spans organizational transformation, culture building, and people development, with a consistent record of creating high-performing, guest-centric teams in luxury hospitality environments.
Before joining Montcalm Collection, Basel served as Group Director of Human Resources for Royal Saray Resort and Sevens Holding in Bahrain, where he led the establishment of a new group HR structure. He built a centralized HR cluster, introduced new compensation and bonus frameworks, launched an HRIS with ATS integration, and rejuvenated recognition programs and culture initiatives—laying a strong foundation for the group’s growth.
Prior to that, Basel was Head of Human Resources at Canopy by Hilton London City, Hilton’s first lifestyle brand in the UK. During his tenure, he oversaw all HR operations for one of East London’s most vibrant hospitality destinations, emphasizing local culture integration, engagement programs, and leadership development. Earlier, he held the role of Cluster People Culture, Learning & Development Manager at Hilton, supporting both the Trafalgar St. James Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton and Strand Palace, where he played a key role in aligning learning and culture initiatives with global Hilton standards.
Previously, Basel served for nearly six years at Meliá Hotels International, including as Human Resources Director at ME London, a five-star lifestyle luxury hotel known for its design-led experience. His tenure at Meliá also included a leadership role in Doha, where he oversaw HR operations and workforce development across multiple properties, driving strong engagement and retention outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Basel held key HR roles with iconic hospitality brands, including Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas, One To One Hotels and Resorts, Rotana Hotels, Raffles Dubai, and Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. Beginning as a Guest Relations Executive at Madinat Jumeirah, Basel steadily advanced into senior HR leadership positions, combining deep operational insight with a people-first management philosophy. His international exposure across the GCC, the UK, and Europe has shaped his inclusive and culturally adaptive leadership style.
