New York, United States, March 2025 – Bessmarie Moses has stepped into the role of Vice President, People & Culture at National Audubon Society. In this capacity, she will be responsible for shaping the organization’s human resources strategies, fostering a dynamic workplace culture, and ensuring alignment with Audubon’s mission of conservation and environmental advocacy.
With nearly two decades of leadership experience in people operations, organizational strategy, and HR transformation, Moses brings a deep expertise in culture change, talent management, and workforce planning. Before joining National Audubon Society, she served as Chief People Officer at Streetsense, where she successfully rebuilt the HR and People Operations function, reduced staff attrition by 30%, and implemented diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that enhanced employee engagement.
Prior to Streetsense, Moses played a key role in the post-acquisition integration of E&E News into POLITICO, serving as Senior Director, Talent & Culture on a contract basis. In this role, she spearheaded organizational transition strategies, developed hybrid workforce models, and integrated career pathing and succession planning frameworks. Before that, she spent over 12 years at E&E News, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer & Director of Operations. She was instrumental in tripling the organization’s workforce and revenue, strengthening compliance frameworks, and enhancing the company’s reputation as an employer of choice in the media industry.
Beyond her professional roles, Moses has been an active member of Chief, a private network for women leaders, where she continues to drive culture transformation and leadership development.
