TAMPERE, Finland, May 20, 2024 — Bioretec Ltd, a leader in innovative biodegradable orthopedic implants, today announced the appointment of Alan Donze as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Alan Donze, with a distinguished career in both the banking and medical device industries, will take over leadership roles at Bioretec, aiming to accelerate the company’s growth and transformation in healthcare technology.
Alan Donze’s extensive background includes pivotal roles at notable organizations such as Deutsche Bank and RLJ Lodging in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets, focusing on real estate and hospitality. His significant experience in the medical device sector includes leadership positions at Stryker, Smith+Nephew, Bioventus, and Lima Corporate. Donze’s journey in medical devices began at Stryker Endoscopy in 1991 as a Regional Sales Representative and expanded to higher management roles, culminating in his leadership at several venture-led startups such as Isotis Orthobiologics, Aerobiotix, and Rx.Health.

Timo Lehtonen, the outgoing CEO since 2019, will transition to the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), where he will lead the development of Bioretec’s future product pipeline. “It has been a privilege to lead Bioretec since 2019 and support its remarkable growth through interesting, challenging times. I am excited to focus my efforts on advancing the RemeOs™ product pipeline. Together with Alan, I am confident we will continue to strengthen our growth and transform bone fracture care. In my forthcoming role as CTO, I will leverage my extensive experience in innovation, product development, and regulatory expertise to support the management team and our skilled personnel.
