Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, May 2024 – Amit Verma is excited to announce that he is starting a new position as Group Head Human Resources (General Manager HR) at JAY Chemical Industries Private Limited. In this role, Amit will be responsible for leading the HR function and driving strategic HR initiatives across the organization.

Before joining JAY Chemical Industries, Amit served as a Senior Human Resources Manager at ISGEC HITACHI ZOSEN LIMITED for nearly a decade. During his tenure, he focused on talent development, performance management, leadership building, career succession planning, organizational development, manpower planning, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and industrial relations. His contributions significantly enhanced the company’s HR practices and overall employee value proposition.

Prior to ISGEC, Amit was the Plant Head HR & Admin at Nuberg Engineering Ltd., where he managed HR responsibilities for the Process Equipment Division and Chemical Plant. His role encompassed strategy planning, budgeting, talent acquisition, training and development, employee engagement, performance management, organizational development, and policy implementation. Amit’s strategic human capital planning and effective management of internal and external unions were notable achievements during this period.

Amit’s career began as an Officer HR & Admin at Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd., followed by a similar role at Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd. and Wockhardt Ltd.. In these positions, he gained extensive experience in recruitment, training and development, administration, and performance management, laying a strong foundation for his HR leadership journey.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
