Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, May 2026 — Peter Kohl has started a new position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Velora Aviation, strengthening the company’s executive leadership as it advances its operational excellence, aviation services innovation, and strategic role within Abu Dhabi’s global aviation ecosystem.
In his new role, Peter oversees Velora’s operations across four major divisions in the United Arab Emirates, including ground handling, cargo and logistics, security services, and military ground services. He leads a workforce of over 5,000 professionals, supporting more than 33 million passengers annually, handling nearly one million tons of cargo, and ensuring world-class aviation service standards across critical sectors.
Peter brings more than two decades of global aviation, logistics, operational transformation, and executive leadership experience. Prior to joining Velora Aviation, he served as Senior Executive Advisor and previously Executive Vice President Operations at Saudi Ground Services (SGS), where he managed operations spanning 29 airports, 100 million passengers, and over 10,000 employees while driving transformation and digitization initiatives.
Before SGS, Peter built an extensive leadership career with Swissport, where he held several senior executive roles over 24 years, including Chief Operating Officer for Swissport’s U.S. cargo and logistics business, Chief Executive Officer for South Africa, Germany, and Asia-Pacific operations, as well as strategic business development leadership positions that helped expand Swissport’s global footprint. His career reflects deep expertise in aviation services, operational scalability, mergers and acquisitions, strategic growth, and global business transformation.
