United States, April 2026 – Tapan M. has joined WSP as Senior Technical Director within the Power Delivery Specialty Group, marking a significant step in his distinguished engineering and power systems leadership journey.
In this role, Tapan M. will contribute to large-scale and complex power delivery initiatives, supporting clients and teams in navigating evolving infrastructure demands and advancing reliable, future-ready power systems.
Prior to joining WSP, Tapan M. spent over 17 years at Burns & McDonnell, where he served as Associate Technical Consultant. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in transmission and substation projects, providing deep technical leadership across HVDC systems, FACTS technologies, protection systems, and grid modernization initiatives.
His work included technical due diligence, specification development, vendor evaluation, and protection system design for high-voltage infrastructure projects, contributing to enhanced system reliability and compliance with global standards.
Earlier, he held roles as Technical Consultant and Senior Electrical Engineer, where he worked on large-scale HVDC links, substation protection systems, and grounding design, further strengthening his expertise in advanced power systems engineering.
He began his professional journey with organizations such as URS Corporation and Black & Veatch, focusing on electrical system design, power distribution, and engineering analysis.
His early career also includes academic and operational roles, including research and post-doctoral work at Tennessee Technological University, followed by teaching assignments and foundational experience in power generation and plant operations with West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited and CESC Ltd., where he contributed to commissioning and operation of large-scale power infrastructure.
