Copenhagen, Hovedstaden, Denmark, April 2025 – Birgitte Brix Bendtsen has joined European Energy as the new Chief People Officer, commencing her role in May 2025. In this leadership position, Birgitte will guide the company’s global people strategy, strengthen organizational culture, and drive talent initiatives to support the company’s rapid growth in the renewable energy sector.
Prior to this appointment, Birgitte Brix Bendtsen served as Chief People Officer at Better Energy for over two years, where she played a key role in global HR strategy, cultural transformation, diversity and inclusion, and organizational efficiency during periods of hypergrowth and downscaling. Her work was instrumental in driving strategic workforce management, policy development, and data-driven people decisions across international offices.
Before becoming CPO, she held the role of Executive Vice President of People at Better Energy for approximately one year, leading leadership development, employer branding, workforce planning, and employee engagement programs that significantly enhanced talent attraction and retention across a competitive market.
Previously, she worked for Kromann Reumert for over six years, where she held progressive leadership roles including Head of People & Development and HR-Chef, spearheading employer branding, health and balance campaigns, leadership coaching, compensation, and strategic talent development. During her tenure, the firm consistently ranked among the top employers for law students in Denmark.
Earlier in her career, Birgitte spent over three years at DONG Energy (now Ørsted), holding several leadership positions such as Lead HR Business Partner, Lead Consultant – Talent Management, and Senior Consultant – People & Development. She managed high-potential programs, succession planning, and strategic competence development across the company’s operations.
Her early roles also include leadership experience at Vestas, where she was Global Employer Branding Director and later Senior Specialist – Brand Management, leading teams and managing branding, retention, and employee experience strategies globally.
