WASHINGTON – In a strategic move reflecting its ongoing expansion and deepening insight into the dynamic energy sector, Boundary Stone Partners (BSP) has announced the appointment of Jennifer Garson as Senior Vice President.
Garson transitions to BSP after an illustrious tenure exceeding 15 years at the U.S. Department of Energy, where she most recently spearheaded the Water Power Technologies Office within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
Garson’s federal career is distinguished by her efforts to foster open innovation and enhance federal funding programs, thereby supporting a broad spectrum of climate-focused entities, including entrepreneurs, nonprofits, startups, and corporations. “During my 15 years at the Energy Department, I’ve leaned into open innovation and improving federal funding programs to support entrepreneurs, nonprofits, startups, and corporations across the climate landscape,” Garson shared. “I’m thrilled to now put what I’ve learned to work at BSP.”
In her role as Director of the Water Power Technologies Office, Garson was instrumental in managing a substantial budget, strategizing for the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, and initiating significant federal initiatives aimed at bolstering the nation’s energy infrastructure and innovation. Her tenure at the Department of Energy was marked by significant contributions to transforming the department’s approach to funding mechanisms, including the implementation of prizes, lab-directed funding, and SBIR/STTR programs.
Before her tenure in the Water Power Technologies Office, Garson held several key positions across the Energy Department, contributing her expertise to renewable power, technology market integration, technology transitions, and grid infrastructure.
Brandon Hurlbut, co-founder of BSP, emphasized the strategic vision behind Garson’s recruitment, stating, “At BSP, we are looking to the future and investing in talent that’s at the intersection of technology, finance, and policy. Jenn is known within our industry for her thoughtfulness and knowledge at the forefront and can deliver insights and guidance to our clients.”
In tandem with Garson’s appointment, Boundary Stone is also pleased to welcome Ashna Singh, further bolstering its team with talent that brings a blend of policy expertise and strategic insight.
