Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, November 2025 – Auris | formerly Heartland, a trusted payroll and HR partner for small and medium-sized businesses across the U.S., has announced the appointment of Brene’ Mayes as its new Vice President of Human Resources. In her new role, Brene’ will lead HR strategy, organizational development, and people operations as the company expands its mission to deliver seamless, human-centered HR and payroll solutions following its acquisition by Acrisure earlier this year.
Brene’ brings more than a decade of progressive HR leadership experience across the energy, fintech, and payments sectors. Before joining Auris, she served as Vice President, Human Resources at Global Payments Inc., where she played a key role in supporting multi-country HR functions and led teams of HRBPs and generalists across diverse geographies. Her leadership encompassed organizational design, talent optimization, and strategic workforce planning. She was instrumental in leading HR initiatives for a major international acquisition, enhancing Global Payments’ global HR integration and capability maturity.
Prior to her VP appointment, Brene’ served as Human Resources Director and Manager at Global Payments, where she supported over 1,000 employees across multiple U.S. locations. She successfully implemented career path frameworks for 10+ departments, advanced performance management processes, and strengthened the company’s approach to inclusion, talent mobility, and employee experience. Her deep understanding of international HR practices and employee relations positioned her as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
Earlier in her career, Brene’ held several key roles at Enable Midstream Partners, Roan Resources, and Continental Resources, where she specialized in compensation and benefits strategy, pay equity, and executive compensation. She led annual pay review and market benchmarking cycles, managed long-term incentive programs, and advised business leaders on compensation design aligned with organizational goals. Her analytical acumen and ability to translate data into actionable HR insights earned her recognition as a strategic business partner to senior management.
Brene’ began her HR journey as an intern at Chesapeake Energy and Continental Resources, gaining hands-on exposure to recruitment, employee relations, and early-career program management. These formative experiences shaped her passion for combining people analytics with empathetic leadership—a hallmark of her career ever since.
