London, United Kingdom, August 23, 2024 — Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Clare Bishop as the new Director of People.
Clare, who initially joined the club on an interim basis in June, will now continue in this role on a permanent basis, bringing with her 24 years of experience in HR and talent acquisition.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the role, Clare Bishop stated, “I am delighted to be remaining at Chelsea. We have achieved a lot in the People team in the past seven weeks and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help deliver the next phase of the strategy at the club. Chelsea is a very ambitious club, and what is fundamental to that success is our people. That’s where my focus will be — creating a leading people experience.”
Clare’s extensive career includes key roles with renowned brands such as Warner Bros., ASOS, and Addison Lee. Most recently, she served as Chief People Officer at luxury retailer Matches, where she honed her expertise in creating impactful people strategies.
