Delhi, India, August 2025 — Chiragh Oberoi has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Delhi Duty Free at GMR Group, bringing with him more than two decades of experience across retail, aviation, and supply chain. In this pivotal role, he will lead India’s largest duty-free enterprise at Delhi International Airport, driving strategic marketing, digital transformation, operations, and stakeholder engagement to deliver long-term growth and customer satisfaction.
Prior to this role, Oberoi served as CEO – Regional Duty Free at GMR Aero, where he successfully managed the commencement of Delhi’s duty-free concession. He oversaw business integration, secured regulatory approvals, and ensured a seamless transition with the onboarding of over 1,200 staff, achieving zero disruption in sales operations. His proven ability to navigate regulatory complexities and foster partnerships has positioned him as a trusted leader in the aviation retail ecosystem.
Earlier, Oberoi held leadership roles at Shoppers Stop, Crossword Bookstores, Foodhall India, WHSmith (Future Group), IDFS Services Pvt Ltd., and Jet Airways. His experience spans building supply chain efficiencies, scaling retail operations, managing inflight retail, and driving profitability for premium lifestyle and consumer brands. At Jet Airways, where he spent nearly 14 years, he gained strong operational expertise in quality assurance, inflight catering, and airport services, laying the foundation for his customer-first approach.
An alumnus of the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal (Bachelor’s in Hospitality Administration/Management) and Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (Post Graduate Program in Retail Management), Oberoi combines academic rigor with hands-on leadership in aviation and retail. His appointment underscores GMR Group’s commitment to strengthening its retail and duty-free business leadership, while driving innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
