Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States, September 2025 – Christine Woolsey has taken on the role of Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at Michigan Medicine, one of the nation’s top academic medical centers. In this pivotal leadership role, Christine is responsible for overseeing the entire communications and marketing ecosystem across the health system, including digital strategy, brand positioning, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining Michigan Medicine, Christine Woolsey served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS). Over a span of more than two years, she led transformative marketing and communication initiatives across the health system, including brand amplification, PR, digital engagement, and executive communications.
Earlier in 2023, she held the role of Vice President of Corporate Communications & Marketing at Waystar, where she played a key role in preparing the health tech company for its IPO. She launched Waystar’s first corporate communications function, integrating internal and external messaging, media relations, and executive positioning.
Christine also co-founded Woolsey Paustian Group, where she served as Senior Partner for over four years. In this role, she advised clients across healthcare, medtech, and public policy sectors, delivering outcome-focused strategies for C-suite leaders on public relations, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement.
Previously, she held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Communications & Marketing Officer at SCL Health, where she led an $18M marketing operation and successfully unified branding efforts post-merger. Her work significantly improved brand awareness and consumer engagement across multiple states. She also served in strategic communication leadership roles at Exempla Healthcare, Hill & Knowlton, and Crain’s Chicago Business, gaining early expertise in journalism, corporate communications, and broadcast media.
