Columbus, Ohio, United States, November 2025 — Chrystal Zimmerman has started a new role as Vice President Human Resources at Surge Staffing, bringing nearly three decades of diverse and people-centric HR leadership to one of the nation’s most established staffing and workforce solutions organizations. In her new mandate, she will play a pivotal role in strengthening talent strategy, elevating people operations, and supporting Surge Staffing’s continued national expansion.
In her most recent role, Chrystal Zimmerman served as Vice President Human Resources at Lighthouse Behavioral Health Solutions for more than two years, where she helped shape the people strategy for a fast-growing behavioral health organization and strengthened HR operations, leadership support, and culture-building initiatives across multiple sites in the Columbus region.
Before this, she spent over six years at The Ohio State University, progressing through roles including Human Resources Director, Human Resources Manager, and HR Generalist within the Department of Student Life. Her work in this period strengthened her expertise in employee relations, HR administration, operations leadership, and large-scale employee engagement across a major public university ecosystem.
Earlier in her career, she gained valuable HR leadership and business operations exposure across organizations including Justice, FitJuice & Smoothies LLC (where she served as Owner/Operator), Marriott International (as Human Resources Director), and America’s Pizza Company (Pizza Hut Inc.), where she served in multiple field leadership roles spanning people capability, training, and district management.
Her career foundations were built with Pizza Hut, where she dedicated nearly twelve years in key roles across people capability, regional training, and field leadership, cementing her early expertise in workforce development, coaching, and operational HR support.
