Shelbyville, Kentucky, United States, June 2025 – Courtney Murdock has taken on an expanded leadership role as Chief Human Resources Officer & Deputy CEO at OVEC (Ohio Valley Educational Cooperative). This appointment recognizes Courtney’s deep expertise in HR leadership and her growing impact across the organization. In her new role, she will continue to drive OVEC’s people strategy while also stepping into a broader executive function, supporting the cooperative’s mission to serve 14 school districts and over 155,000 students in north central Kentucky.
Courtney has been with OVEC since August 2023, previously serving as Chief Human Resources Officer. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in shaping talent management, HR policies, and employee engagement programs, reinforcing OVEC’s commitment to educational excellence and organizational effectiveness.
Prior to joining OVEC, Courtney served at Home of the Innocents for six years, where she advanced through several HR leadership roles, including Director of Talent, HRIS Applications Manager, and HR Business Partner. She led initiatives in talent acquisition, HR technology, change management, and employee engagement, playing a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s mission and growth in the Louisville Metropolitan Area.
Earlier in her career, Courtney worked as a Recruiting Coordinator with Atria Senior Living, focusing on talent management and event planning, and as an Operations Support Specialist with RealPage, Inc., where she contributed to operational efficiency and team support.
