Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, June 2025 – Janison has announced the appointment of Courtney Smyth as its new Chief People Officer. In her role, Courtney will be responsible for leading strategic people initiatives across the organisation, including talent acquisition, employee experience, people governance, and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Janison’s global mission.
Courtney joins Janison after serving for over two years at Clemenger Group Limited as People & Culture Director, where she led impactful HR programs across six operating companies. Her tenure was marked by the successful implementation of employee engagement frameworks, performance cycles, and values-driven culture programs. She also played a pivotal role in implementing a global HRIS system and enhancing WHS compliance and recruitment processes.
Prior to that, Courtney spent over two years at PEXA, where she held leadership roles including GM, Business Partnering & Organisational Development and Senior Human Resources Business Partner. At PEXA, she led high-impact transformation and talent strategies, supported M&A initiatives, and championed DEI programs that significantly lifted engagement scores. She also contributed to launching PEXA UK and supported the company’s IPO journey through HR structure revamps.
Earlier in her career, Courtney held key HR leadership positions at VendorPanel, South East Water, and Insync, where she worked across organisational development, cultural transformation, employee experience, and strategic HR initiatives. Her career also includes earlier roles with GE Money and KPMG Consulting, contributing to her well-rounded experience in both consulting and corporate HR across diverse industries.
Courtney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Management from The University of Melbourne, equipping her with a strong academic foundation in understanding organisational behaviour and leadership effectiveness.
