Retail Zoo, the powerhouse behind some of the most beloved brands in the food and retail sector, including Boost Juice, Betty’s Burgers, Cibo Espresso, and Salsas Fresh Mex, has announced the appointment of Craig Mason as its Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Mason, who took over the reins in March 2024, brings with him a deep reservoir of leadership experience and a proven track record of success in the food and beverage industry, both in Australia and internationally.
Before joining Retail Zoo, Mason was the Managing Director of McCain Foods in Australia/New Zealand, where he played a pivotal role in navigating the company through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. His strategic foresight and leadership helped maintain a semblance of normality in the supply chain and ensured the continued provision of critical daily household food requirements across the region.
Mason’s extensive background also includes significant leadership roles at Nando’s, where he served as CEO for ASEAN/Australasia and Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand. During his tenure, Mason was instrumental in leading a comprehensive business transformation across the organization, which included strategy realignment, customer experience enhancement, and brand positioning.
At Yum! Restaurants International, Mason held the position of Chief Development Officer, where he was responsible for driving growth and optimizing assets. His strategic and operational leadership was crucial in expanding the company’s footprint and improving profitability.
Craig Mason’s appointment as Interim CEO at Retail Zoo comes at a time when the company is poised for further expansion and innovation. With over 660 stores globally across its brands, Retail Zoo employs more than 8,000 people in over 12 countries, making it a significant player in the international retail landscape.
