Gurugram, Haryana, India, March 2026 – Daanish Varma has started a new position as Head – Investments, India at Blueleaf Energy, strengthening the company’s investment and expansion strategy in one of the world’s fastest-growing renewable energy markets.
In his new role, Daanish will lead investment strategy, capital deployment, portfolio expansion, and strategic transactions for Blueleaf Energy’s India business, supporting its mission to accelerate the energy transition toward net zero.
Prior to joining Blueleaf Energy, Daanish served as Head – M&A and Investment Analysis at Statkraft, where he led mergers & acquisitions and investment evaluation initiatives in the alternative energy sector. His tenure contributed to strengthening renewable portfolios and advancing strategic growth opportunities in India.
Earlier, he was Group Executive Vice President – Sustainable Investment Banking at YES Securities, focusing on renewable energy, power, and infrastructure transactions. Over nearly seven years, he played a pivotal role in capital raises, advisory mandates, and M&A deals in sustainable sectors.
Daanish also held leadership roles at Kotak Investment Banking and Anand Rathi Investment Banking, advising on private and public equity raises, debt transactions, and infrastructure M&A across power, renewable energy, transportation, and coal sectors. Earlier in his career, he worked with Ernst & Young in corporate finance and with CRISIL in power and energy sector consulting.
He holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
