New York City, New York, United States, November 2025 – Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) has announced the appointment of Daniel Waite as Regional Director of Human Resources for North America. In his new role, Daniel will lead the human resources strategy and operations across MHR’s North American portfolio, focusing on talent management, culture enhancement, leadership development, and employee engagement. His appointment underscores MHR’s commitment to strengthening its people-first approach across its global hospitality network.
Daniel is a seasoned HR leader with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality and service industries. Prior to joining Millennium Hotels and Resorts, he served as Regional Director of Human Resources – Eastern Region (TN, VA, MS, SC, FL) at Westgate Resorts, where he oversaw multi-state HR operations, driving workforce planning, leadership development, and employee engagement across major resort properties. His strategic focus on aligning HR with business goals helped foster organizational agility and performance excellence.
Before Westgate, Daniel was Senior Vice President of People and Culture at Makeready, a Dallas-based hospitality management company. He was instrumental in shaping company culture, enhancing employee experience, and implementing HR initiatives that supported business expansion and operational transformation across hotel properties.
Earlier, Daniel spent several years with Starwood Hotels, serving as Vice President of People Operations. During his tenure, he developed and led innovative HR programs focused on leadership pipelines, employee retention, and performance management across a portfolio of premium hotels in North America.
Daniel’s career also includes impactful leadership roles at Loews Regency Hotel as Director of Human Resources, and Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts as Area Director of Human Resources, where he successfully led HR strategy for multiple luxury properties. He has also held key HR leadership positions at Ardent Manor, Vail Resorts, and Morgans Hotel Group, where he managed HR operations for renowned hospitality brands including Delano, Mondrian, and Shore Club. Earlier in his career, he worked with Benchmark Hospitality, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, and The Registry Resort, contributing significantly to training, organizational development, and employee relations.
Daniel’s professional journey began in the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG-58) during Operation Desert Storm—an experience that instilled discipline, teamwork, and leadership principles that have guided his HR career.
