Deepak Mittal is a seasoned investment professional with over 15 years of experience across private equity, investing, and strategy, and has a proven track record of deploying nearly $400 million across multiple investments. He has been instrumental in driving value creation within portfolio companies and delivering successful exits across varied market cycles. His expertise spans deal sourcing, investment evaluation, portfolio transformation, and strategic governance.

Prior to joining IIFL Capital, Deepak was associated with Nuvama Private Equity and Samara Capital, where he played a pivotal role in sourcing and executing marquee transactions while working closely with management teams to enhance operational performance. Earlier in his career, he was with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advising leading organizations on strategy formulation and performance transformation initiatives.

In his new role at IIFL Capital Services Limited, Deepak Mittal is leading the strategic build-out of a greenfield Private Markets platform. As Head & CIO – Private Equity, he is responsible for capital raising, shaping investment strategy, and institutionalizing a multi-strategy vertical covering Growth Equity, Late-Stage, Early-Stage, Venture Capital, and PIPE investments. Leveraging IIFL’s strong research capabilities and institutional network, he aims to capture the full value chain of high-growth Indian enterprises.

Before this, Deepak served as Investment Director – Private Equity at Nuvama Asset Management for over six years, leading the end-to-end investment lifecycle for a $1 billion AUM fund. Notably, he led the $115 million buyout and consolidation that created Yum! Brands’ largest India franchisee and executed significant investments in healthcare and agri businesses.

Deepak began his professional journey at Boston Consulting Group, where as a Senior Associate, he led cross-functional teams on strategic and operational transformation projects. His work delivered measurable impact including $160 million improvement in free cash flow for a manufacturing client and major cost optimization initiatives across sectors. He also brings early experience in technology and engineering roles with Qwest Software Services and Siemens Power Engineering.

Deepak Mittal holds a Master of Science in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business (2017–2018), where he graduated as a Robert L. Joss Scholar, awarded to the top 10% of the class. He also completed an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Indian School of Business (2006–2007).
