San Jose, California, United States, February 2026 — Demetrius Cunningham has been elevated to the role of Head of People Operations & Employee Experience at Extreme Networks, marking a significant leadership transition within the organization following more than six years of progressive responsibility at the company.
In his new role, Demetrius Cunningham leads People Operations and Employee Experience, with a mandate to strengthen engagement, partnerships, and culture across Extreme Networks’ global workforce. This elevation reflects the company’s focus on aligning employee experience with its growth strategy as a leader in AI-powered cloud networking.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Senior Director – Engagement & Strategic Partnerships at Extreme Networks, a role he held since 2022. During this period, he was responsible for driving engagement initiatives and building strategic partnerships that supported business alignment and cross-functional collaboration. Earlier at the company, he held the position of Director of Sales Strategic Alliances, following the acquisition of Aerohive Networks by Extreme Networks.
Before the acquisition, Demetrius Cunningham was part of Aerohive Networks, where he served as Global Director of Strategic Alliances and earlier as Global Partner Manager, managing global partner ecosystems and strategic alliances.
Earlier in his career, he held the role of Global Alliances Manager at Dropbox, where he led global alliance strategies, executive partnerships, and large-scale revenue initiatives. Prior to that, he spent over 17 years at Dell Technologies, holding multiple leadership positions including Channel Account Manager, Senior Manager, Enterprise Solutions, and Chief of Staff, contributing to large-scale sales growth, executive operations, and global business initiatives.
He began his professional career in sales at MCI WorldCom, laying the foundation for a career spanning enterprise technology, partnerships, leadership operations, and now people and employee experience leadership.
