Divyanshu Tripathi Promoted to Vice President – HR Business Partner at Citi

Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2025 – Divyanshu Tripathi has been promoted to Vice President – HR Business Partner at Citi, continuing his impactful journey with the organization. In this elevated role, he will partner with senior business leaders across Investor and Issuer Services Operations for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, focusing on strategic talent alignment, workforce effectiveness, and change enablement across geographies.

Divyanshu has rapidly grown within Citi, having joined as Management Associate – HR Business Partner for NAM Operations in mid-2022. Over the next three years, he made significant contributions across multiple verticals including Total Rewards, Employee Relations, and Wellness & Benefits Strategy, driving policy design, governance frameworks, and regional alignment efforts. Most recently, as Assistant Vice President – Human Resources, he managed workplace investigations across 40+ countries, supported major restructuring governance, and led cross-regional collaboration on ER compliance.

Prior to Citi, Divyanshu held marketing and HR-focused internships with leading firms like Pidilite Industries, Freudenberg Group, Mitsubishi Corporation, and 10times, gaining valuable cross-functional exposure in organizational design, OD interventions, and digital branding. He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Tata Institute of Social Sciences, where he pursued his Master’s in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations and served as a core member of the Aspirants Relations Committee, leading PR and onboarding efforts.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
