United States, July 2024 – Dorissa Pitts-Paige will be starting a new position as Chief People Officer at HRSD. With nearly two decades of experience within HRSD and a robust background in human resources and talent management, Dorissa is well-prepared to lead the company’s people strategy and workforce development initiatives.
Dorissa Pitts-Paige has been with HRSD for approximately 17 years and 9 months. In her new role as Chief People Officer, she will leverage her extensive experience to oversee HR operations and strategies, ensuring alignment with HRSD’s mission and vision.
Prior to this, Dorissa served as Director of Talent Management for about 2 years and 8 months, where she played a crucial role in developing and implementing talent strategies that enhanced employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
She also held the position of Apprenticeship Instructor for approximately 5 years, where she taught the Introduction to Computer Concepts course for HRSD’s Apprenticeship Program, contributing to the development of future professionals in the organization.
Earlier in her career, Dorissa worked as an HR Generalist at the City of Norfolk, Department of Utilities for about 3 years, and as an HR Clerk at the City of Suffolk, Human Resources for approximately 1 year and 1 month.
Since its inception in 1940, HRSD has served the region with one mission — to protect public health and the waters of Hampton Roads by treating wastewater effectively. HRSD returns highly treated effluent to nature in a way that continues to nurture our water’s delicate ecosystems. HRSD’s workforce of scientists, engineers, water quality professionals, and other staff diligently work together to fulfill the HRSD vision that our communities will have clean waterways and reliable water resources for generations to come.
